Meadow Creek Baptist Church Minutes
Stanly County, North Carolina
Formed 1841 from Montgomery County (west of the Pee Dee River)

Website note: Member's names are likely sourced from various lists contained within the minutes at different dates. However, the compiler of this edited work in 1961 clearly gleaned a few of the church member's names from the actual minutes rather than from a "members' list". He may have cross referenced the member's lists with the minutes and added the unlisted names.

Also note: Apparently, several slave names are mentioned as church members. They are noted in possessive form with their owners name (e.g. Stough's Joe)

"A Church book for the Baptist Church at Meadow Creek, Stanly County August 15, 1825 Made by George Little for James Little clerk in the use of the above church. This is copied from the original book of the Meadow Creek Church. The original is in the possession of Eli Hopkins the present church clerk (1961)"
