Research Notes: William Long appears in very vew records. Montgomery County is a burned courthouse county so few records would survive. He appears in census and is named as a son of James Long in the ledger for Melchior's store. The elder James Long petitioned the legislature to partition Montgomery County from Anson indicating his residency in that area.

1. William Long born about 1765-1784 (census) - probably closer to 1780. Nothing more known after 1810.
