"Muster Roll of the Guard organized for the Security, relief and
protection of the citizens and Friendly Cherokees resident in the
Cherokee Territory in the limits of the State of Georgia
Commanded by William N. Bishop from the first day of July when
Mustered into Service to the 13th of September 1835, inclusive:
Wilson R. Young, 1st Sergt., James Sample, 2nd Mas. Sergt, James
M. Kelly, Fifer, Hardy Burwell, drummer.
Private: James C. Dowdy.

Camp Benton, Head Quarter, Murray County, GA.
I certify that the above muster roll exhibits a true statement of
a company organized by for the purpose mentioned in the above
caption under the name and Style of the Georgia Rangers that said
company or Guard was organized at the time and place above
mentioned rendered the Service as above Stated and that the
remarks set opposite their names is accurate and just. Given
under my hand this 30th day of September AD 1835
