Book A page 149 refers to his "wife Masy, with whom I have
lived in quiet for sixty-three years." The will also contains
the following bequest: "I give and bequeath to my two granddaughters,
Sarah L. Lancaster and Mary A. Lancaster, now Mary A. Reed, wife
of William L. Reed, the portion of my daughter, Anna Lancaster,
deceased." etc.

Note: Newspaper article
states that William Dowdy who married Amasy Roe may be the son
of Rev. Robert Dowdy, but no proof is given. The article states
that a family researcher says that William Dowdy's ancestors
"originally came to Williamsburg VA, along with Edmund Pendleton
Gaines."
