Marshall Co Historical Quarterly Vol 6 No 1 pg 31. Davis Green was born in NC 9 Jan 1785 d 15 Jun 1853 in Marshall Co TN. Married Temperence Dowdy b 17 Sept 1792 in NC and died 5 May 1879 in Marshall Co TN. Both are buried in Allen Cemetary near Caney Springs.

In the name of God amen. I Frederick Taylor of the county Marshall and state of Tennessee being of sound mind and perfect memory and calling to mind the certainty of death do this the 28th dy of February Eighteen hundred and forty one make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. Item 1st. My will and Desire after my death that my Executor sell on a resonable credit all the property that I may leave with the exception of such household furniture as my Wife may want and the funds arising there from together with all other money which I leave on hand or owing to & secondly to the maintainance of my wife Francis Taylor during her natural life. Item 2nd. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Friffes one fourth of what may be left at the death of my wife. 3. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Martha Dennis one fourth. 4. I give and bequeath to my grandchildren Martha Dowdy, James Dowdy, Mandy Dowdy, Haywood Dowdy and Frederick Dowdy the other fourth to be eaqually divided between them I do hereby nominate and appoint my son Frederick Taylor Executor to this my last will and testament as witness where of I have hereunto set my hand & seal. his mark X Witness: L.
