pumpmaker Power of Attorney dated Aug 20, 1757 to collect all
debts due him, etc. Witnesses: JOHN WILSON, RICHARD KITCHENER.
Probated by latter before JOSEPH OTTOLENGHE, JP. District of
Savannah. Sworn Sept 10, 1757; re-corded Sept 12, 1757.

by Candler: pg 677, Dec 1757 Petition of RICHARD DOWDEE setting
forth that he was Settled in the Province & possessed no
lands therein having a Family consisting of a Wife & 2 Children
& desirous of obtaining a Grant of Lands for cultivation
And Praying for 250 A of land at Newport adjoining the South
West line of Lands granted WILLIAM DAVIS which if granted the
Petitioner engaged to cultivate & improve the same.
pg 914 Mar 1759 Read a Petition of RICHARD
DOWDEE setting forth that he had granted him 200 A of land at
Newport which he had not surveyed & the warrant granted for
that purpose was out of date, the Petitioner desireth to resign
his Right to Land & to have the Land his Family entitled
him to ask for granted in one place, having a Wife & 5 Children
& 2 Negroes therefore praying for 400 A on Heron's Island
fronting North Newport River joining South West Lands granted
the Widow CROOK incl'd 2 small Islands of about 10 A each. Rejected.
